EFFECTIVE PAIN RELIEF

Osteopathy is best known for its benefits in helping with spinal problems – the kind of problems that give you back ache. But it can also help with many other areas of pain.

I treat a wide variety of complaints that include back, shoulder and neck pain, joint pain, trapped nerves, sciatica, repetitive strain injuries, headache, sporting injuries, hip pain, stiffness, tension and mobility problems.

For your body to work well, its structure must work well. I will work to restore your body to a state of balance (ANS-picture). I use touch, physical manipulation, articulation, stretching and myofascial soft tissue to increase the mobility of joints, to relieve muscle tension, to enhance the blood and nerve supply to tissues, and to help your body’s own healing mechanisms. I provide advice on posture and exercise to aid recovery, promote health and prevent symptoms recurring.

I’m based in Stoke Newington, just beside Clissold Park. I used to worked in Clacton on sea, Essex and Bedford.

CAN I HELP YOU?

Osteopathy is best known for its benefits in helping with spinal problems – the kind of problems that give you back ache. But it can also help with many other areas of pain – neck and shoulders, knees, wrists, feet, even posture and breathing. Osteopathy looks at the harmony of body, mind and spirit, not just the symptoms of pain.
“Osteopathy is for everyone. At every stage of life, no matter what challenges a person faces with their health, there is always something that an osteopath can do to help.”

Treatment
The first appointment will take about 40-45minutes. I will take a case history detailing the present complaint and a general medical history. On the first appointment you will be asked to remove some clothes so I can assess your posture in detail. Then you may be asked to do some simple movements so I can determine where the problem stems from. Some medical examinations may be appropriate at this point. The osteopathic assessment looks at you as an individual in order to understand why the problem has developed. I do perform treatment in the first appointment and it is gentle, as I have found these types of techniques to be very effective. After the first treatment people sometimes experience some discomfort similar to that after exercise for 24 to 48 - 72 hours. Generally after treatment people find that their symptoms have either disappeared or are much more manageable. People often find they have more energy and a feeling of wellbeing.

Follow-up
Follow-up appointments take up to 30-45 minutes. People usually need 3 to 4 appointments to address a specific problem. Some people find that regular treatment over a long period is what they need to keep them well. The aim of treatment is to stop or reduce symptoms as soon as possible and then provide you with tools to prevent recurrence of symptoms.

SPORTS MASSAGE & Exercise advice

SPORTS MASSAGE
Sports massage uses specific techniques geared to individual sports. It works on the muscles and soft tissue to help you recover from sports-related injuries and prevent further injury. It is powerful and effective. SPORTS MASSAGE costs £90 for 55mins per treatment.

Exercise advice
I worked for 10years as a personal trainer but now more Exercise advice and 15 years as a sports massage therapist . I can give some  Exercise advice  to motivate you, help you optimise your training time and prevent injury. It’s also more challenging than working out.

We will discuss  about training techniques, breathing mechanics and how best to achieve your goals – whether that’s building up muscle, increasing flexibility, losing weight, preventing injury, or competition training. I am a triathlon athlete / power lifter myself and can share my experience.

TESTIMONIALS

Richard Wright, Barrister
"After entering the London Marathon with a group of friends, I injured my groin through overtraining. I was barely able to walk, let alone run and was on the verge of pulling out of the Marathon. A close friend recommended Radi to me two months before the start of the race. Radi took a holistic approach to my injury and he’s also marathon runner himself.
My treatment involved a mixture of manipulations, classical osteopathy; deep myofascial trigger points release massage and advice on strength-building exercises. He made sure my whole body was working properly rather than simply focusing on my injured groin. He also analysed my running style and suggested several changes to take pressure off my groin.
Richard Wright, Church Street, London, N16

Delphine Smith, Midwife
"I had plantar fasciitis in both my feet for over 9 months before I met Radi. Previously, I went to a physiotherapist and saw several orthopaedic specialists who gave me cortisone injections which actually made it worse! With a few session of osteopathy with Radi, my condition improved a lot. I appreciated that he was not just looking at my symptoms but searching for the root cause. He has reduced the pain in my feet together with my niggling back problems (due to posture) and also helped improve the condition of my skin."
Delphine Smith, Shrub End Surgery Rd, CO3

Alison Walch, Financial Advisor
"I went to see Radi due to neck and back pain that I experienced during my pregnancy. I was getting a lot of pain whilst sitting at a desk at work. Radi took a holistic view of the problem. He not only solved the symptoms but got the root of the problem and resolved the issue itself. This was done through physical treatment and stretching and strengthening exercises. He even advised me on my work station and suggested changes that helped tremendously. Throughout my treatment Radi was very accommodating to my pregnancy which gave me even more comfort. Radi is also a very nice and warm individual and I would highly recommend his services."
Alison Walch, Vista Rd, Clacton on Sea, CO15

Moshe Frizel, Teacher
"My back was hurt during an accident at work and prayer. I first went to a physiotherapist and then to another Osteopath. After that I underwent a course of acupuncture and massage treatments. When that didn’t work I went back to the previous Osteopath. I finally contacted Radi who I am familiar with and he said I should give him a try. After only 4 treatments I had made more progress than all the other treatments put together.
Radi’s a very well known in our Jewish community in Stamford Hill. I am no longer receiving treatment and only following a set of exercises which Radi has given me. He is still in regular contact with me to monitor my progress. I wish I had gone to him sooner."
Moshe Frizel, Amhurts Park, N16

Chris Reiner, Law Student.
"Finding a good local osteopath can be quite stressful. I am fortunate to have found Radi. He is effective, friendly and experienced. He gives advice about things to do between appointments to speed your recovery, and I can say that my neck/back problem has all but disappeared.  Thank  you  Radi. I know just where to come to next time I have a problem."
Chris Reiner, Stoke Newington, N16

Everything discussed is dealt with in the strictest medical confidence. You will normally be asked to remove some of your clothing and perform a series of simple spinal (head or back) or joint (shoulders or hip) movements so that the mobility of your body can be assessed. Once a diagnosis is made I will discuss with you the timescale and type of treatment necessary.
